About Me

For the last 5 years, I have been an educator, but I am transitioning into a new role as a UX Designer to continue my pursuit of being a life-long learner.

Before teaching, I had a plethora of life experiences. I was an environmental education volunteer in the Peace Corps in Senegal for 2 years where I completed several projects including, hiring local engineers, holding community-wide focus groups, and assessing the needs of a community to develop projects based upon that data. I was so inspired by the adversities that the members of my community faced in Senegal, that I decided to go back to school to learn how to help other communities as well. I received my Master of Arts in Climate and Society at Columbia University. I then worked with Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security (CCAFS) in India holding various community meetings and focus groups to assess the efficacy of an agro-climatic advisory system.

Considering all of the skills acquired over my years of fulfilling careers, I decided to back to school again to receive my teaching certification from Tulane University. I have always had a passion for helping others grow and learn. After two years of teaching in New Orleans and three years of teaching in Austin, Texas, I have decided to pursue a career in UX Design. I am drawn to UX because of my passion to enable others to have a more enriching and engaging experience. In order to do this, I have taken a full-time immersive UX Design course for twelve weeks with General Assembly.

I am a fast learner and completely dedicated and motivated to become an effective and engaging UX Designer.
